The U.S. have banned Vegemite. Any Australian suspected of vegemite smuggling can be searched. From the article:
Former Geelong man Daniel Fogarty, who now lives in Calgary, said he was stunned when searched for Vegemite while crossing the US border on a trip to Montana recently.
“The border guard searched our car and asked us if we were carrying any Vegemite,” Mr Fogarty said.
“I was flabbergasted.
“The official said Vegemite wasn’t permitted in the US.”
Waging wars on flimsy pretexts is one thing, but banning salty black spreads? Disgraceful!
This time, Uncle Sam has gone too far!

There is still hope, Keith. They can’t inspect EVERY incoming container.
Just don’t be caught with it at an airport
