American politics

Interesting to hear the results of the other day’s US election. I suppose that’s what happens when you wage a war that, increasingly, looks pretty pointless.

Sometimes you hear about a tragedy (Rwanda or Sudan, for example) and people ask “Why doesn’t America intervene?”. Iraq provides the answer.

I’m not an American, but if I was, I have no idea who I’d vote for. Both the Republicans and the Democrats are completely awful.

Isn’t it interesting, though, that as the Republicans have become more right wing, the Democrats have become more centrist. The same trend is also evident in the UK and Australia. There are no more left wing political parties!

Not that I’d vote for them, if there was.
