Five word coffee shop reviews: Albury-Wodonga edition

Sarah has sent me the following reviews for cafés in the Albury-Wodonga area:

Ameldis, Elgin Blvd, Wodonga
Good for early morning coffee

Zilch, Stanley St, Wodonga
Excellent coffee just never open

Cafe Grove, High St, Wodonga
Mostly good but sometimes dodgy

Hollywoods, Southside Terrace, Wodonga
Quite good and open always

Coffee Mamma, Olive St, Albury
Good flavour unfortunately served lukewarm

Green Zebra, Dean St, Albury
Food is better than coffee

Electra, Dean St, Albury
Great latte I’m coming back

Canteen Cuisine, Dean St, Albury
Don’t even bother going there

Georges, Dean St, Albury
Very dodgy coffee stay away

This is what Sarah thinks of a few places on or near the Hume Hwy in Victoria:

Mobil, Hume Hwy, Seymour
Worst coffee, tastes like petrol

McDonalds, Hume Hwy, Glenrowan
Slightly better than Mobil coffee

Jolly Jumbuck, Euroa
Great coffee, what a find

Hollywoods, Wangaratta
Worth leaving the highway for

I have to concur with Sarah about the Mobil service station in Seymour. It doesn’t matter what you buy there, whether food or drink, everything is awful. Even things you would think are safe are awful.

this reveiw is cleary not accurate. Cafe Grove was recently nominated best coffee on the border.

Nominated by whom? I’m curious! Give us details!

By the people on the border. It was in a sms competition, hosted by Star FM of which 3 or 4 other cafes were nominated. It really does depend who the barrister for the day is of course.

Cafe grove -Worst service /food ever
