Away with the Metric system!

You can learn a lot from the Internet. For example, I learned recently that the Metric system is evil. I don’t know why I hadn’t realised this earlier.

First of all, the metric system is sexist:

The metric system has been almost wholly created and standardized by male scientists and bureaucrats. At the time, during which women were considerably less liberated than today, woman had virtually no say in the creation and, in many countries, the imposition of these units.

But it gets worse – the metric system is also undemocratic. As freedom2measure.org states, “Who ever asked you if you wanted the metric system?”

Despite the metric system being the work of imperialist tyrants, only three freedom-loving countries have so far resisted it: the United States, Myanmar and Liberia.

They have good reason to do so. Since the introduction of the metric system in Australia in 1966, the divorce rate has more than doubled. Violent crime has also increased.

When will we wake up and realise what the metric system is doing to our country? Abolish the imperialist misogynist capitalist Metric system now!

Funny post mate, although I have to disagree, here in Darwin we pay $1.27 per litre fuel, in the US a gallon costs about $2.15 >>> Metric system keeps the fuel prices low.

That is true, although if you run a marathon in miles it will be longer than if you run it in kilometres. A marathon measured in kilometres is no marathon at all! A TRUE marathon runner would insist on miles rather than try and shorten everything.

In Melbourne, I just paid $1.28 for petrol. I’m surprised that in Darwin the prices are so similar.

you know what else has happened since the introduction of the metric system? you were born. therefore the metric system is evil. (and no, it doesn’t matter that i was also born since- irrelevant)

If you really think that the introduction of the metric system caused me to be born, let me fill you in on how these things work. When mummies and daddies love each other in a very special way, they … oh, forget it. Ask your dad.

But I should point out that since you were born after I was, you have had more chance to be corrupted by the metric system then I was. Purge thyself of iniquity and repent.

In 1975, I heard that the USA will be converting. I was eager to learn it. As for body stats, chest, bicep, and penis could be measured in centimeters, and could cause a big ego boost. I tried that as early as 1975, at age 8. Ladies’weights could be in kilograms with a similar result. Runners’ and bikers’ speeds could be in kilometers per hour, as I do normally, with more impressive results than with MPH>
