While on the train on the way home from work, seated in an aisle seat, a man asked for access to the middle seat, so naturally I shifted across so he could sit down.
After a few uneventful minutes, he started making a strange noise over and over again. A sucking sound, or similar. He then started talking to himself, all while taking up so much space as to push me over the edge of my seat and into the aisle.
That wasn’t the end of it, was it? The situation provided a great opportunity for nose picking, so up went the finger into the goldmine. All great fun no doubt, but this presented an unfortunate logistical problem; what to do with the boogers on the end of his finger?
He ate them. That’s right - he picked his nose and ate it on the train, in full view of everyone.
What strange things have you witnessed while using public transport?

SaRz, that’s completely feral. Did you give him any money? I’m guessing not.

I’ve had old people fall asleep on my shoulder at the back of a crowded bus. Not that strange, just awkward.
The best things I’ve witnessed is the strange things that people say/talk about. Once I was on the bus wearing big Senheisser headphones. This guy points at me and says, ‘Heh, headphones’ and laughs??? Another time I was reading, as were a few other people, and these two guys are sitting up the back talking. One of them says, ‘What’s with all these people reading? Why would you want to read a book for?’.
Young teenage girls have the strangest conversations I’ve heard, saying things to each other like, ‘He just keeps cheating on me, but I love him’, etc.
There were no bodily fluids involved in my experiences, but I found them bizarre.

Listening to the conversations of strangers is always fun, if a little scary.
“Why would you want to read a book for?” That’s a bit worrying, if you ask me.

What? With that Zone 2 goodness at your fingertips? For shame!
Driving can be a pain sometimes. At least with trains you can veg out a bit. When you drive, you have to be alert constantly.
