Depth And Meaning Festival #2: The World Of Work

The first group writing project at Middle Zone Musings was a success, so it was only natural the Robert Hruzek (Or was that Hzurek? Or Hukrez?) would plan a second. The second had the theme of “work” and before you knew it, everyone was pitching in their work-related life lessons, with Robert leading by example as usual.

Their were eighteen entries all told, covering a wide variety of experiences, from grueling work, first jobs, good jobs, bad jobs, dealing with people, new challenges and more besides.

The entries are as follows:

What I Learned from…

Working in a Bar, by Genesis at the At Home Mom Blog

Unemployment, by Markk at My Opinions are Important

Working at a Startup, by Alex at Brick Blogging

Working for the Government, by Lillie Ammann at A Writer’s Words

Writing at Work, by Joanna Young at Confident Writing

No worries; I’ve seen MUCH worse spellings! I once received a letter addressed to “Khrushchev”. I could’ve sworn there was an unmarked van parked down our street for weeks…

Maybe the next project could be…”The worst my name was ever mangled…” - thanks for the congrats…and nicely done Robert!

Robert, that’s hilarious. Khrushchev indeed. I always knew he was still alive.

Hi Markk, thanks for the link

You think Khrushchev is bad, try having C.C.P. as initials (as in the Dutch Catholic tradition of having three ‘baptise names’): Catharina Cornelia Pertonella and your first name being Karin - luckily with a K instead of a C). Some called me ‘half-Russian’ ;-)

Karin H.

So not fair. I really enjoyed the last group writing project over at Problogger, and I’ve been looking for more of them.

This one looks like it would have been fun.

Where can I find more of these things?

Hruzekcz is planning these once a month I believe. Aside from that, I don’t know!

Comrade Karin, that’s a good revolutionary name!

;-)

So if I start a revolution it can be blamed on ‘Nomen est Omen’ ;-)

Good to know.

Karin H.

It would indeed, and I’ve just learned a new Latin phrase.
