The world is not overpopulated; what we need is not voluntary extinction but better management of resources. By the same logic she uses, the most eco-conscious thing she could do is kill herself. My mum had 5 young children when she was in her early 30s. At one point, 3 of those children were below the age of 2. (She had twins.) You say you have a girlfriend at 30... poor sap... kids in your 30's is really going to be an eye opener! I'm now in my 30's and have loads of time with my husband of 12 years. Good luck to you. Besides, not having kids is the most "green" thiing you can do nowadays to reduce your carbon footprint. Think of the combined resources of the planet your kid and their kids and so on will have. Not having a kid means you can live it up and use as many resources as you want. In the final equation, you will be more eco-concious than even the most eco-concious person with one kid.
